This is all the inside info on Life of a Nitsue. Which means stuff not really elaborated on in the series, and stuff that fans don't know about >:)
Long ago, the world was created; that much is known. However, what wasn't known, was that the dimension of space that Earth occupied, was divided. Because of this, Earth had a counterpart--Elesmere. Elesmere was everything Earth was not. It was peaceful, abundant. Magic and the power of the elementals was the very air the people of Elesmere breathed.
The people were united under a single clan. They called themselves the Mystics, for they drew on the magic of the land, and thus possesed power of their own. In time, members of the Mustic clan broke off and formed their own clans after the element that had power over. They were the Sand, Fire, Earth, Air, Water and Ice. Though these people had a problem with their blood, and thus only select few of the sister clans had power. It was blamed on the Drudin, a seperate race distantly related to elves, and their "bad" blood. Those who could wield the element of their clan, were forced into the warrior class, and became slaves to the will of their emperers.
The other clans grew strong, and became jealous of the Mystics, who were all gifted with power of great variety. They declared war. It was a bloody war, many died. The result? The Mystics were almost wipped out, and as a treaty, they vowed never to use nor speak of their power again. And so, as time passed on, the decendants of the Mystics grew up, unknowning of their great power.
Until, almost three thousand years later, Eodis, messanger of the 10th emperer of the 19th dynasty of the Mystics, unveiled the secret, and set loose the wrath of the sister clans.
